These discrepancies are widening and becoming more impactful as technology advances and certain people are left behind. What makes this even more poignant is the shift in lifestyle that is pushing more and more people to work from home. Artificial intelligence is at an inflection point - where what’s slowing widespread adoption is trust. Rebuilding trust in AI requires taking a responsible approach to developing and using the technology. This couldn’t be more pertinent for the financial services industry, with banking institutions coming under scrutiny for use of ‘black box’ AI systems and issues pertaining to fairness and bias. Machine learning systems that are designed with in-built AI governance are more transparent, explainable and fair, with the ability to detect and correct unintended biases that can creep into these systems.
The financial services industry is undergoing a seismic shift in data-driven innovation, yet truly data-driven innovation in banking will require two fundamental changes. With digital banking, hyper-personalisation will need to happen in real time to support mobile experiences. At the same time, model risk management will need to evolve to address model risks to retain customer trust in the use of AI. Hear how organisations are building responsible AI systems, with in-built AI governance for a range of use cases across FSI.

We have developed new AI chips and software based on computing algorithms taken directly from how our human brains compute. We use these new AI technologies to engineer very low-power AI computing technologies to embed in phones, drones, robots, cars, cameras and sensors to make them smarter. In this talk, we will present our new automatic speech recognition chip and software designs that recognize spoken command words for only a few micro-watts of power, and full spoken speech for a few milli-watts. Both of these designs set new records in low-power speech recognition and accuracy, enabling more devices to interact with us with speech and enabling device batteries to run longer as well as lowering the carbon footprint of datacenters. Large datacenters often are spending 20% or more of their electricity on processing speech. With electricity bills running into the millions and even hundreds of millions, this breakthrough is of direct interest to data center operators. For consumer device manufacturers wishing to make smarter, easier to use consumer devices with speech interfaces, speech can now be deployed to more devices, in smaller footprints, requiring less battery power or leaving more power for other computing, making devices smarter and more competitive.

The Digital Divide is a term that refers to discrepancies in levels of access to information and/or communication technology between various groups, whether these groups be categorized by income-level, geography, or ethnic/social groups. These discrepancies are widening and becoming more impactful as technology advances and certain people are left behind. What makes this even more poignant is the shift in lifestyle that is pushing more and more people to work from home. If the technologies they have access to are not up to par, their livelihoods may very well suffer. Join us to find out more!

5G is expected to be a key enabler of the future Digital Economy. By unlocking 5G’s full potential, we can catalyse a wave of transformation across our industries and sharpen our competitive edge as a key trading and connectivity hub in the region, and beyond. 5G is at a nascent stage of market and technology development today.
Huge capital expenditure will be required for the deployment of complex 5G infrastructure to reap the benefits to various stakeholders. Collaborations amongst 5G stakeholders become increasingly important to develop viable enterprise 5G use cases for commercialisation.
The panel discussion aims to better understand the different partnership models and the impact on 5G trials and roll-out.

The rollout of 5G and associated services will change the way we live, interact, and exchange information. Faster data rates, lower latency, and more efficient networks will allow for the development of more bandwidth-intensive services and experiences, enabling technologies such as autonomous vehicles, enhanced telemedicine, and higher-quality distance education.
It will not, however, be feasible to roll out the ultra-dense, high-cost networks associated with 5G via only terrestrial means. Satellite can, and must play a role in stitching together the network of networks that is 5G, and with advancements such as LEO-HTS constellations, very High Throughput GEO satellites, and new types of ground equipment, the satellite industry is in a position to do just that.
A panel of industry experts discusses the rapidly evolving role that satellite plays in the rollout of 5G, challenges and opportunities therein, and what the future of satellite-enabled 5G may be.

LEO Challenges | Smallsat constellations in Lower Earth Orbit have been a widely discussed topic for some time. Tackling industry pain points such as cost and latency, mega constellations are set to make a huge impact on satellite communications. However, many technical questions remain unanswered: the space environment is finite; how do space users share it amicably? Could over-crowding in LEO have an impact on other orbits? What impact will this increased usage have on RF systems at the ground segment?
Cloud Teleport | The satellite industry is changing. The big advantage of satellite over the years has been the point-to-multipoint capabilities. With the advent of data and video-on-demand, we are seeing more and more competition to the traditional delivery of satellite. At the same time consumers don’t care how the data gets to them, their primary concern is bandwidth and latency. How do we ensure that traditional teleports remain relevant in this new world? This session will discuss how making teleports digital will revolutionise the satellite industry and help it retain its relevance.

- AI enables banks to identify purchasing patterns, look at multiple data points to match products with the right individuals and have a much more intelligent ways to engage with customers. To enable AI-led transformation, leaders need to reimagine the processes, identify use cases and rethink the basic relationship between employees and machines.
- What are the current AI applications in use for employees and customers? What are the benefits and implications?
- How do banks build trust among customers, employees, and the partners across its ecosystem? What steps are taken to ensure greater and trusted use of AI?
