Deborah TanCEO at SmartUp
Deborah Tan-Pink joined SmartUp as Asia Head of Content in 2017 when the UK edtech startup was expanding into the region with its first client - DBS. Over the next 3 years, Deborah led a team of 4 to grow the business to more than 20 clients with an annual revenue of $1.5 million. Today, she is the CEO of SmartUp and the platform now serves over 300,000 users in 7 countries. Some SmartUp's clients include Marsh, Thai Banking Academy, and the Singapore College of Insurance. Debs - as she prefers to be called - is passionate about eliminating the discrimination employers have towards older workers in the economy, arguing that "disruption" and "innovation" do not always have to come in the form of a millennial or a Gen Z employee. While she's acutely aware that she heads a tech startup, she believes that the future of learning is human and that we should never give up trying to achieve more through self-determination and awareness.
