Dr. Graeme Shaw is an innovative, respected technologist and business strategist with more than two decades of progressive experience in the aerospace and telecommunications industries. An expert in satellite engineering and business development, Dr. Shaw has extensive global experience in conceiving, designing, selling, buying, financing, and managing Satellite projects.

Dr. Shaw has supported many clients in leading the design, development, procurement, and management of several new satellite projects to address their perceived business needs.  At least nine satellites currently in operation or in development were conceived and designed by Dr. Shaw, who in addition to running the RFP process also had responsibilities for technical and program management, until the initiation of operations. 

He has led the technical and commercial negotiations for more than a dozen satellite and launch vehicle procurements and is one of the world’s eminent authorities on the technical capabilities, cost drivers and pricing trends among the various suppliers and manufacturers.  He regularly provides advisory services to the financial sector as part of Due Diligence efforts, to support investment decisions or M&A transactions, and has also acted as an expert consultant to manufacturers on new satellite R&D projects.

For the past several years, Dr Shaw has been especially focused on HTS. He is an expert in HTS satellite design, but also created ArgoSat’s proprietary Global HTS Demand Model, which uses sophisticated mathematical models for population, income, access to connectivity, and total cost of ownership to predict the demand for HTS capacity (distributed on a 1km grid) everywhere on the Earth.
